Someone who follows my Tumblr once paid me a very high compliment: “You have a very expansive view of female beauty.” While I don’t set out to do it, I like to blog a wide variety of women. All women have something beautiful about them, and I do not have a “type” – i.e., I don’t go for any certain body type, color, height, shape, etc. over another. (Although I do like you redheads.)
But seriously, I’ll share one phrase I heard years ago keeps popping into my head – curves have an elegance that bones deny. Please take that to heart, my followers. Whether you’re naturally thin, curvy, short, tall, big, small, light, dark, medium, whatfuckingever – revel in your individual beauty. Do not let our society or our bullshit media dictate your own self-image or your happiness with yourself. You do not need a “goal weight” unless your weight is a health hazard or you’re striving for something out of interest in your own longevity or future rather than a desire to look like death warmed over. Speaking personally? I don’t care about your dress size – I only care about the size of your heart, your intellect, your sense of humor, and your soul. The rest is just window dressing.
